Loonbedrijf Van Gastel, an agricultural contractor based in Woensdrecht, the Netherlands, bought not one but two trucks from Kleyn at the same time.

This means their fleet is now fully up-to-date for the new slurry spreading and harvesting season. Martijn van Gastel explains the purchase: “We were looking for red trucks with PTO and leading axles. We found them on the Kleyn website. We were given a warm welcome when we visited the company in Vuren.” The two trucks didn't need much work. “We had navigation fitted, added horns and lamps on the roof and of course our own graphics,” explains Van Gastel. “Both DAF XFs are normally hitched to 36 m3 slurry tanks. In the autumn, we use them to tow walking floor trailers for the beet campaign.”

Martijn van Gastel is enthusiastic about the collaboration with Kleyn. “One of the two trucks had a few minor defects, but these were easily fixed in consultation with Kleyn. All in all, we are very satisfied. We would recommend Kleyn trucks to our colleagues, and when we’re ready for a third truck we'll certainly contact you first.”

Martijn van Gastel grew up on his father's agricultural contracting firm. He started his own company in 1993 by buying a large trike to fertilise the soil. The company has steadily grown since then, and now has a workforce of 12 employees and various independent contractors for seasonal work. As well as slurry spreading, the company now also harvests beetroot and is involved with arable and livestock farming. Today, in 2022, this dynamic agricultural contracting firm serves the entire agricultural sector across the southwest of the Netherlands.
