DAF XB
The DAF XB, introduced on 23 August 2023, differs from the rest of DAF: it is not built in Eindhoven, but in the British city of Leyland. Moreover, it does not have its own designed cabin, but, like its predecessor the LF, a cabin purchased from Renault. This is also used by many other brands, such as Volvo and DAF's sister brands: Peterbilt and Kenworth.
In addition to the 'regular' DAF XB, the FA (4x2 truck chassis) with a regular diesel engine, there are also sister models: the DAF XB Electric, with an electric driveline and the DAF XBc, the robust version for the construction sector. This one stands a little higher on its legs and has some extra protection against scratches or worse.
The diesel variant is available with two engines: the Paccar PX-5 and the Paccar PX-7. In terms of safety systems and on-board entertainment, the XB is basically equipped with all the things that are also available with the ‘Eindhoven’ models from the Brabant blacksmith. With one exception: an XB always has mirrors, while the other models are also available with cameras.
The XB has been named ‘TOP light truck’ in the leading TOP truck survey by the Czech and Slovak transport magazine Transport a Logistika, “because it combines the lowest ecological footprint with excellent efficiency, safety and comfort.”
