Kögel
Kögel is a German manufacturer of trailers and semi-trailers, founded in 1934 when Franz Xaver Kögel took over the carriage workshop where he had completed his apprenticeship. This was the same year the first Autobahn was constructed. Kögel grew through various acquisitions, including some factories from Kamag and Kässbohrer, and thanks to these acquisitions, the company has had notable clients, including NASA. Kögel offers a wide range of trailers, including curtain-sider trailers, refrigerated trailers, and tippers. Additionally, they produce 'Wiesel' trailers, specially designed for transporting swap bodies, and SPMTs (self-propelled heavy transport trailers), which can be used for transporting space shuttles, for example.
In 2009, Kögel went bankrupt and was acquired by Humbaur, a company known for its car trailers. Although Humbaur initially attempted to sell full-size trailers under its own name, it ultimately decided to continue using the Kögel brand.
